The field of High–Energy Physics is experiencing a strong renaissance for several reasons: one, the advent of the new Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Geneva, along with unprecedented computing power for theoretical computations; second, new telescopes in astronomy to investigate high–energy events in space. Besides existing and established texts and MRW, a coherently written and comprehensive compendium bridging the gap between texts on field theory and particle physics is needed, but lacking so far. This book fills this gap.
