Although coordination chemistry is one of the most important topics in inorganic chemistry, a modern textbook has been lacking for years. With more than thirty years of experience in science and teaching, Joan Ribas aims to treat not only the traditional aspects that have shaped the field of coordination chemistry for decades, but also the modern approaches and topics  like supramolecular and bio–coordination chemistry, photochemistry and crystal engineering.
The clear and concise concept makes this advanced textbook easy to read and easy to understand. Tedious mathematical or quantum mechanical equations are only utilized when absolutely necessary. This helps graduate and postgraduate students focus on the essentials and guarantees successful courses and exams.

Nota biograficzna:
Joan Ribas is Professor at the department of Inorganic Chemistry of the University of Barcelona. For more than 30 years, he has taught General, Inorganic and Coordination Chemistry. The research field he focused on is the study of coordination compounds, mainly as it concerns the synthesis and characterization of polynuclear species of transition–metal ions with interesting magnetic properties (relevant to the area of molecular magnetism). Professor Ribas is author of more than 300 papers in international journals, all of them related to Coordination Chemistry.
