Nota biograficzna:
Andreas Jess studied at the Technical University of Aachen and wrote his thesis on the optimization of isomerization processes. He obtained his PhD from the University of Karlsruhe and in 1998 he became professor for technical chemistry in Aachen. Since 2001 Jess is owner of the chair of Chemical Engineering at the University of Bayreuth. His research interest is the optimization of well established chemical processes and the development and implementation of new methods and techniques.
Birgit Drieβen–Hölscher studied chemistry at the Technical University of Aachen. She obtained a PhD for her work on the copolymerization of ethylene and carbon oxide with nickel catalysts . In 2001 Drieβen–Hölscher became professor of Technical Chemistry. Since 2003 she owns the chair of Technical Chemistry at the University of Paderborn. Her main research interest lies in the area of catalysis in liquid/ liquid biphasic systems.
Peter Wasserscheid studied chemistry at the Technical University of Aachen and obtained his PhD for the work on the use of ionic liquids. After a postdoc at BP Chemicals in Great Britain Wasserscheid returned to Aachen. In 2001 he became Scientific Supervisor of the Solvent Innovation Company and since 2003 he owns the chair of Chemical Reaction Engineering at the University of Nürnberg. At present he researches the development of concepts for highly selective catalytic processes.
