Dipl.–Ing. Dr. Florian Rudolf–Miklau is an expert on torrent and avalanche control and on staff at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management (Life Ministry) in Vienna. Studies in Forestry (torrent and avalanche control) concluding in a dissertation at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. 10 years as site manager building avalanche barriers in Styria (Austria), since 2002 advisor for protective technology in torrent and avalanche control and project financing at the Life Ministry in Vienna. Chair of the standards committee ON–K 256 "Natural Disaster Protection" at the Austrian Standards Institute and member of the techno–scientific advisory council of the INTERPRAVENT research society in Klagenfurt, lecturer at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences and Vienna Technical University for "Natural hazard management", juridical certified expert for torrent and avalanche protection structures as well as hazardouse zone planning and author of numerous expert papers and books.
Dipl.–Ing. Siegfried Sauermoser is head of the Tyrolean Section of the Forrest Engineering Service in Torrent and Avalanche Control in Innsbruck, Austria.
Studies in Forestry (torrent and avalanche control) at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna. 12 years of work experience as site manager for avalanche barraires. Lecturer at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna (avalanche barriers), the University of Innsbruck (torrent and avalanche control) and the University Center at Svalbard (Spitzbergen/Norway), juridical certified expert for torrent and avalanche protection structures, member of the Austrian Board for Alpine Safety at Innsbruck and author of numerous expert papers and books.
