This book explores a broad range of theory bases and developing practice within the area of occupational therapy in housing. It is based on two fundamental principles:
Homes becoming enabling environments, and promoting user–centred services. It supplies the additional background knowledge and professional skills needed by occupational therapists working in housing. They should then be able to build their own understanding and practice on the foundations supplied in this book.
The knowledge, research and experience presented in the book has been compiled from occupational therapists working as practitioners, educators and managers, alongside academics working on social policy and disability issues.
The book will be of use to students and occupational therapists new to the area of housing; it will also be invaluable for experienced practitioners engaged in the complexities of work within the housing field.
