Interdisciplinary Research: Diverse Approaches in Science, Technology, Health and Society

Research methodologies and approaches to research, tend to vary between academic disciplines and common themes are often neglected. This book grew out of experience in organising a research degree supervision course at the University of Paisley and was based on discussions about the similarities and differences between research approaches and the value of multi–perspective studies.
Interdisciplinary Research introduces academics to new areas of endeavour and encourages researchers and students to think broadly when devising their studies.  Linking chapters present the contributions in an historical and theoretical context, identifying the themes between the approaches. Interdisciplinary Research thus encourages new thinking about old problems.
This book is ideal for research activists, especially those involved in education institutions and research degrees.
