He is also editor of Global Viewpoint, a syndicated column distributed by the Los Angeles Times. His articles based on essays and conversations with world leaders appear regularly in major newspapers around the world. Gardels holds degress in Theory and Comparative Politics, Architecture and Urban Planning from the University of California at Los Angeles, where he now resides with his wife and two children.
