The International Encyclopedia of Human Sexuality: 3 Volume Set

The Encyclopedia of Human Sexuality will be published in both print and online editions. Arranged across four volumes in A–Z format, it will be the definitive reference source on human sexual behavior for students, researchers, and academics. Specially commissioned entries will be written and edited by an international team of the world′s best researchers and instructor, who will incorporate scientific, clinical, cultural and colloquial terms and concepts of sexuality, and show the diversity in human sexual behavior and belief systems. The encyclopedia will be a comprehensive alphabetical resource, defining sexuality from a broad based biocultural perspective, providing information on origins, meaning, context and usage. Extensive cross–referencing, illustrations and indexing will provide readers with easy accessibility and a clearer understanding of this complex human phenomenon.

Patricia Whelehan , PhD, CST/CAC, TEFL–Cert Professor/Campus AIDS Education Coordinator is Professor of Anthropology and the Campus′ AIDS Education Coordinator at State University of New York at Potsdam. She is coeditor of Women and Health: Cross–Cultural Perspectives, and has been working on a new text on HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted disease. She has also been a frequent contributor to other reference works and books on cross–cultural sexual practices. Anne Bolin is Associate Professor of Anthropology at Elon University. She is the author of In Search of Eve: Transsexual Rites of Passage, former editor of The Journal of Sex Research (4S Publication), and chair of the AAA Interest Group on Human Sexuality. Bolin and Whelehan are co–authors of the textbook, Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Human Sexuality: Biological, Psychological, & Cultural Understandings (Taylor & Francis/Haworth, forthcoming 2008; first edition 1999 and 2003: McGraw–Hill, 520p)
