People living in nursing and residential care homes are vulnerable to the effects of poor quality care. The author, Linda Nazarko, has worked with older people for 25 years. She is a nurse consultant and visiting research fellow and university lecturer. She was awarded a fellowship by the Royal College of Nursing in 2001 and an OBE in 2006 for her work.
