Author Biography: Peng Xu is Associate Professor of Applied Physics at China Jiliang University. He serves as the Head of Applied Physics Department. He earned his PhD from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and National University of Singapore under the supervision of Professor Boming Yu and Arun Mujumdar in 2009. He was also visiting professor of Department of Mining and Materials Engineering at McGill University from June to December 2015. His research interests includes heat and mass transfer in porous media, multiscale and multiphysics modeling, fractal geometry and its applications in engineering. He serves as the guest editor for Fractals (World Scientific) and Journal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering (Elsevier). Prof. Xu has published 2 books and more than 50 international journal papers, and the citation number of the papers is more than 1500. He received his PhD from Mechanical Engineering Department at National University of Singapore. Prof. Sasmito serves as an assistant editor for Drying Technology, editorial member for CIM Journal, professional member for SME, CIM and TPR. He is the team leader of Mine Multiphysics, and his current research interests include mine ventilation, energy systems (conventional and renewable/alternative power sources), artificial ground freezing, slurry transport, minerals processing, materials handling, industrial transport processes and thermal fluid sciences and engineering. Publications includes 70 journal papers, 64 conference papers, 3 books, 7 book chapters and 3 technical reports. Mujumdar is Adjunct Professor at McGill University, Montreal, and Western University, London, Canada. He is the founder/program chairman of the International Drying Symposium series. His work has been featured in over 500 refereed publications. He has authored two books, edited over 60 books, and currently serves as the editor-in-chief of Drying Technology-An International Journal. He is the recipient of numerous international awards including Doctor Honoris Causa from Lodz Technical University, Poland and the University of Lyon, France.
