Many feel that the current economic crisis indicates an urgent need for a regional, national, and global reassessment of contemporary corporate governance practices and systems. Post–crisis Trajectories of European Corporate Governance presents a critical re–evaluation of relevant policy and institutional elements of corporate governance as it relates to the member states of the European Union. Experts in corporate governance explore a variety of topics, including questions on whether there should be a unified corporate governance trajectory in the EU. And if such a trajectory exists, must it be completely reoriented or would a simple upgrade of current arrangements suffice? With a goal of initiating a dialogue about optimum European corporate governance policy in the aftermath of the global economic crisis, Post–crisis Trajectories of European Corporate Governance offers important insights into the prospects for Europe’s economic future.

Alan Dignam is Professor of Corporate Law at Queen Mary, University of London, and Honorary Member 7 King’s Bench Walk Chambers. He is co–author, with Michael Galanis, of The Globalization of Corporate Governance (2009), with Professor John Lowry, of Company Law (2006), and, with David Allen, of Company Law and the Human Rights Act (2000).  Michael Galanis is a Senior Lecturer in Company Law at the University of Manchester. He has taught at Queen Mary, University of London and the University of Leeds and  he is co–author of The Globalization of Corporate Governance (2009) with Alan Dignam. Dr. Galanis has held government advisory positions abroad and has experence as a company director.
