Evaluator Competencies
Evaluator Competencies, based on research by the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance, and Instruction (ibspti∗), identifies the competencies needed by evaluators. The rigorously validated competencies are classified by domain and are accompanied by practical descriptions and performance statements. The authors discuss challenges and obstacles in conducting evaluations within dynamic, changing organizations and offer methods and strategies for using the competencies.
Praise for Evaluator Competencies
"This book is a comprehensive treasure trove of knowledge and advice from some of the top minds and most thoughtful experts working in evaluation today. . . . it will help busy practitioners not only to avoid mistakes and minefields, but ultimately to better serve their clients."
Robert O. Brinkerhoff, professor emeritus, Western Michigan University
"Evaluation opens windows of opportunities to a strategic role for human resource development. Russ–Eft′s seasoned team of experts provides a standard for recruiting, managing, and training professional evaluators."
Diederick Stoel, CEO, ProfitWise International, the Netherlands
"Identification of evaluator competencies in organizational settings is long overdue. What is special about this book is how it unpacks these competencies in ways that resonate brilliantly with experience in the field. Highly recommended for interns and a perfect reality check for practitioners."
Zita M. Unger, director, Evaluation Solutions, Australia
