Environmental Issues and Social Welfare

This topical collection examines a wide variety of themes and topics which link the environment to social policy and welfare.
Following an introduction by the editors which assesses how social scientists have contributed to the greening of social policy, a series of ten articles by leading scholars in the field pursues three key themes:

The nature of green political and social theory
Policy areas where environmental considerations are paramount
Pathways to sustainability
These papers represent the best current scholarship on the realignment of social policy to confront environmental issues. Taken together, they present a challenging socio–environmental agenda for social policy.
