Technological change has had a profound impact on manufacturing industry and related business sectors. Since publication of the first edition of Implementing New Technologies the pace of change ahs been maintained, often with uncertain consequences. In this new edition the editors have brought together a collection of readings which include:
Project planning.
Conversion or application of plans.
Consolidation of change after the insertion of new technologies.

Although the second edition includes material on innovation it is more concerned with the consequences of technology diffusion and technology transfer, concentrating on the adoption of technologies which are novel in a particular application even though not inherently ′new′.
