A complete and authoritative guide to psychotherapy supervision
Psychotherapy Supervision, Second Edition presents comprehensive coverage of all aspects of supervision, from theory of models of supervision, to therapy–specific advice to power relations unique to the supervisory relationship. Up to date and in–depth in coverage, the new edition is a critical resource for mental health professionals as well as graduate students in all the helping professions.
Edited by three experts in the field, this essential guide and reference examines specific skills in a multiplicity of environments and the treatment of a variety of client types. Unique in capturing the clinical aspects of supervision not typically covered in other books, this volume covers such specific subjects as working with violent, sexually disordered, or elderly populations as well as work in medical centers, prisons, and other specialized settings. Psychotherapy Supervision discusses the process from the supervisee′s, as well as the supervisor′s, point of view. This new edition:
Covers the newest information
Includes chapters written by experienced supervisors, leading researchers/clinicians, emerging specialists, and those in supervision themselves
Addresses clinical guidelines on effective supervision practices specific to different theoretical outlooks
Providing clear guidelines for successful clinical supervision, the Second Edition′s thorough treatment of the subject, combined with the contributors′ incomparable expertise, makes this an integral volume for all mental health professionals, whether in supervisor or supervisee roles.
