Chemistry of the future and for the future
Green chemistry uses proven principles and techniques to prevent pollution at its source, ensuring sustainable development while minimizing pollution and its risks to human health and the environment. Methods and Reagents for Green Chemistry: An Introduction provides an excellent overview of recent progress in the field. A compilation of articles by renowned international experts, it:
Focuses on three areas of green chemistry: green reagents, alternative reaction conditions, and green catalysis and biocatalysis
Discusses real applications of current knowledge and advanced techniques
Compares green approaches and methodologies with traditional practices
Incorporates reviews of clean industrial processes
Provides numerous references to facilitate further investigation of topics by readers
Is derived from lectures at the Summer Schools on Green Chemistry held in Venice, Italy, and reflects state–of–the–art green chemistry methodologies and experiences from all over the world
An important reference for practitioners working in academia and industry, including chemists, chemical engineers, and environmental scientists, this isalso an outstanding textbook for graduate and post–graduate students in related fields.

Nota biograficzna:
Pietro Tundo, editor, is Full Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Venice. He has published over 200 scientific articles and one book, and holds twenty–five patents. His research on clean processes led to the development of Gas–Liquid Phase–Transfer Catalysis, a method for the synthesis of non–steroidal anti–inflammatory drugs.
Alvise Perosa, coeditor, is Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry at the Università Ca′ Foscari in Venice, Italy.
Fulvio Zecchini, coeditor, is a senior researcher at the Interuniversity Consortium "Chemistry for the Environment" in Venice, Italy, in the field of bioremediation of water and soils.
