DAN PETERSEN is a consultant in Safety Management and Organizational Behavior. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering, an M.S. in Industrial Psychology, and a doctorate in Organizational Behavior, and is a Registered Professional Engineer and a Certified Safety Professional. He is past president of the National Safety Management Society, former vice president of the American Society of Safety Engineers, and is an honorary member of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers. Four–time winner of the National Technical Paper Award of the American Society of Safety Engineers, he has published seventeen books, a large number of articles, and ten video tapes. Mr. Petersen is the author of Human Error Reduction and Safety Management, Third Edition and Analyzing Safety System Effectiveness, Third Edition, both published by Van Nostrand Reinhold (1996).
