Donald Davidson was one of the most influential analytic philosophers of the latter half of the 20th century. His contributions to the philosophy of language, the philosophy of action, ontology and metaphysics, the philosophy of mind, and epistemology continue to have enormous influence today. Yet despite a wide range of publications about or influenced by Davidson’s work, none – until now – presents a comprehensive overview of his work across its full thematic and temporal range. A Companion to Donald Davidson provides a much–needed in–depth exposition and analysis of the full range of Davidson′s contributions to philosophy through newly commissioned essays by leading figures in contemporary philosophy. The volume will be of great interest to advanced undergraduate and graduate students, as well as professional philosophers, who are seeking an overview and a critical discussion of Davidson’s work.
