The first book to provide the tools you need to understandinterfacial chemical interactions
Bridging three different fields: nanoscience, bioscience, andenvironmental science, Electrical Phenomena at Interfaces andBiointerfaces is the first book to present and explain the toolsfor understanding and analyzing the phenomena that take place atphase boundaries.
Beginning with a discussion of the fundamental electrostaticoccurrences at interfaces, the book provides detailed descriptionsof the central theories on electrical double–layer interactionsaround and between charged particles, as well as electrokineticsand other topical subjects. Later sections address a range ofelectrokinetic phenomena, as well as the application of colloid andinterface theories in nanomaterials, fuel cells, electronicmaterials, biomaterials, stems cells, microbiology, waterpurification, and elsewhere. In addition, the book explores new, emerging concepts of "soft particles" and "soft interfaces," whichserve as models for biological colloids and humic substances.
Designed for use by physical, surface, and colloid chemists, chemical engineers, bioscientists, and experts working in relatedfields such as materials sciences, the book is an invaluableresource for professionals working in academia and industryalike.
