THE MOST UP–TO–DATE COVERAGE OF OOMYCETE GENETICS AND GENOMICS
Oomycetes are evolutionarily distinct fungal–like organisms that attack a wide variety of plants and animals, causing billions of dollars of loss each year. Oomycetes have been studied intensely since destroying the Irish potato crop in the mid–1800s and due to their unique biology have proved very difficult to manage. This book provides the first comprehensive treatment of genetics and genomics for this important group.
With contributions from a panel of international experts, the book offers coverage of the most recent developments in the field, perspectives on future areas of research, and a special section on oomycete interactions with animal hosts.
Oomycete Genetics and Genomics is an indispensable resource for researchers interested in drug and vaccine development, crop science, aquaculture, microbiology, ecology, plant sciences, and agricultural and environmental biology.
